From May 21st to 24th, 2026, the 50th anniversary celebration of the School of Sports and Leisure at Sichuan Tourism University, along with the "Mountain Field Classroom" comprehensive practical teaching activity, took place at the Mt. Siguniang scenic area. The event was led by Wang Xiong, a member of the Standing Committee of the University's Party Committee and Vice President, and Ran Fei, the Party Secretary of the School. They organized 10 professional teachers and 96 students from multiple majors to enter the scenic area for on-site outdoor teaching, effectively promoting collaborative education between the university and local communities and the integrated development of mountain cultural tourism.

This event innovatively implemented the "industry-education integration + sports practice + school anniversary gift" model, closely adhering to the teaching objectives of mountaineering sports. It organically combined professional training, high altitude adaptation, ecological environmental protection, and school anniversary promotion. The teacher-student team successively completed preparations such as equipment verification, safety training, and school flag presentation. At the same time, they conducted high altitude hiking adaptability training in the Haizi Valley scenic area, and simultaneously carried out public welfare practices such as mountain cleaning and ecological protection, achieving a deep connection between theoretical teaching and outdoor practical training.

On May 22nd, the scenic area held a symposium with the school. At the meeting, Huang Heping, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of Mt. Siguniang Nature Reserve Administration, introduced the outdoor resource advantages, current status of the outdoor industry, safety control system, and industry development trends of Mt. Siguniang. Ran Fei, Secretary of the Party Committee of the college, introduced the relevant situation of the college. Both parties had in-depth exchanges and reached a consensus on aspects such as the joint construction of practice bases, outdoor talent cultivation, and collaborative safety management.

During the event, the scenic area coordinated various support forces, collaborating with professional support teams from schools, cooperative enterprises, and outdoor clubs. By integrating resources such as mountain guides (for coordination), emergency rescue, and logistics services, the area comprehensively implemented safety inspections, material allocation, medical duty, and accommodation guarantees. This comprehensive approach established a strong safety defense line for high-altitude activities, ensuring the safe and orderly conduct of practical teaching activities.

This "Mountain Field Classroom" field teaching is a vivid practice of the integration of local education and industry, as well as practical education. It not only enhances students' outdoor practical skills and consolidates the construction of characteristic majors in colleges and universities, but also further enriches the outdoor education format in scenic spots and enhances the brand of outdoor practical training in Mt. Siguniang.

Next, the Mt. Siguniang Scenic Area Administration will continue to deepen the normalized cooperation between schools and local areas, optimize the supporting services for outdoor practice, improve the high-altitude safety guarantee system, strengthen and enhance the off-campus practical teaching base, continuously deepen the collaborative education model, and promote the mutual empowerment and high-quality development of the mountain cultural tourism industry and higher education.
