To effectively enhance the safety guarantee and tourist service experience of mountaineering, the China Mobile 5G base station at the base camp of Mt. Siguniang's Dafeng Peak was officially completed and put into use on May 1, 2026, marking the complete elimination of communication blind spots in the high-altitude mountaineering area of Mt. Siguniang.

The base camp of the Great Peak is located at an altitude of over 4000 meters, in an area with high altitude, hypoxia, and steep terrain. There have long been issues with weak signals and poor communication, which have brought many inconveniences to tourists in terms of reporting safety, video contact, emergency assistance, and scenic area management. The Xiaojin County Party Committee and Government attach great importance to this issue and have made overall plans and deployments. The Mt. Siguniang Scenic Area Administration, in collaboration with the Economic and Information Technology Department, has overcome difficulties and made every effort to promote the construction of base stations.

The newly launched 5G base station offers stable, high-speed, and low-latency signals, catering to tourists' needs for high-definition calls, video sharing, and image dissemination, thereby enhancing the overall mountaineering experience. Simultaneously, it establishes an all-weather emergency communication support system, enabling rapid response to requests for help, precise rescue coordination, and real-time transmission of on-site footage. This effectively addresses emergency communication challenges, bolstering the "digital defense line" for tourist safety.

Next, the Mt. Siguniang Scenic Area Administration will continue to deepen the integrated application of 5G with smart tourism, mountaineering rescue, and geological park construction, continuously improving service quality and safety assurance capabilities, to provide a more reassuring, comfortable, and convenient touring experience for the vast number of tourists.
