From June 23rd to 24th, Wang Jinghong, member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Sichuan Provincial Forestry and Grassland Administration, led a team to Mt. Siguniang Geopark to conduct on-site supervision and research for the preliminary assessment and inspection work of the UNESCO Global Geopark.

The research team visited several key inspection sites along the evaluation route, including Maobiliang of the Geopark, the Visitor Center, the Science Popularization Gallery, the Museum Cluster, the Outdoor Activity Management Center, Shuangqiao Valley, Jiesi Valley, the "Xikang-type" folds of the Songpan-Garzê Orogenic Belt, Maoshui Village, and the Plateau Rose Base. They inspected the park's environmental improvement, signage, and science popularization displays.

During the on-site inspection, the research team focused on providing guidance on aspects such as atmosphere creation, inspection preparation routes, on-site explanations, and logistical support. They provided suggestions and opinions based on the current work achievements and issues identified during on-site supervision, ensuring that all aspects are implemented, carried out, and detailed.

Wang Jinghong pointed out that the application for the designation of Mt. Siguniang as a UNESCO Global Geopark serves as an important window to showcase the geological heritages, natural landscapes, historical culture, and significance of the park. It also represents a significant opportunity for Mt. Siguniang to be recognized globally. He emphasized that all personnel should work together with a high sense of responsibility and honor, be problem-oriented, and perform their duties with utmost meticulousness to prepare for the on-site assessment by UNESCO experts. This will ensure that we secure the "golden signboard" of the UNESCO Global Geopark in one go, injecting new impetus into the high-quality development of Xiaojin County and even Sichuan Province.
