On February 17th, the Mt. Siguniang Apply for the Unesco Global Geopark team held the 4th weekly meeting of February, focusing on the discussion of on-site work, including museum construction, self-assessment checklist (Table A data), preparation plan for inspection and acceptance, compilation of popular science materials and folding materials, and on-site verification of points.

2、Preparations for the inspection, evaluation, and acceptance of Mt. Siguniang Geopark are steadily advancing

From February 18th to 21st, the working group conducted on-site research on the exploration route of Mt. Siguniang Geopark, focusing on time calculations and explanation drills at various key points.  The research included traffic time before the points, explanation time, and specific arrangements for on-site displays.  Through field visits, the working group conducted a detailed evaluation of the traffic flow and explanation content at each point, providing precise data support for subsequent actual explanation work. Next, based on the investigation results, the work schedule and process will be optimized to ensure that the explanation work can proceed smoothly as planned.

3、The design work of the signage system for Mt. Siguniang Geopark is progressing in an orderly manner

This week, the installation of signage for Mt. Siguniang Geopark has progressed further.  The working group has conducted on-site inspections of key locations, including Changping Valley, Shuangqiao Valley, Majia Valley, and Mu'erzhai Valley, and determined the installation locations for welcome signs, warning signs, and directional signs.  Meanwhile, the design work for educational signs and a science corridor has also entered the implementation phase, covering the geological features, ecological resources, and cultural background of the park. It is expected to be installed in the next stage.

4、The museum cluster of Mt. Siguniang Geopark is well-designed and progressing in an orderly manner

This week, the construction work of the museum has progressed smoothly, with multiple important links being carried out successively.  The basic metal structure of the cultural center is still under welding and fabrication. It is expected that the welding work of metal joists for all newly constructed exhibition walls will be completed by the end of this month, providing support for subsequent exhibition arrangement.  The grassroots calcium silicate boards have been purchased, and relevant trucks have been contacted. They are expected to be transported to the exhibition site in the near future to ensure timely construction commencement.  Meanwhile, the necessary building materials for the ecological and geological museums have been ordered, and materials such as calcium silicate boards will be delivered to the site in the same batch to support the construction.  On the first floor of the visitor center, the scope of construction for the safety fencing has been determined, and the fencing materials have arrived on site. The graphic design is underway and will be constructed after final confirmation.  After the fencing is erected, the demolition, modification, and restoration work for the graphic replacement area of the geological museum will commence.  In addition, products processed outside the factory are still being continuously manufactured. Relevant equipment hardware has been ordered, and interactive software such as electronic sand tables is also being developed simultaneously. Overall, the construction progresses smoothly and is advancing as planned.

5、Selection and Location of the Main and Auxiliary Monuments for Mt. Siguniang Geopark

This week, the working group has completed the site selection and positioning work for both the main and auxiliary monuments.  The purpose of this positioning work is to ensure the organic integration of the monument with the overall landscape and cultural characteristics of the park. During the site selection process, the working group gave special consideration to the natural environment of the scenic area, tourist flow routes, and visual effects.  Next, the working group will proceed to the installation of the main and auxiliary monuments and the subsequent adjustment of details.
