On February 27, 2025, the work promotion meeting of Mt. Siguniang Apply for the Unesco Global Geopark was held in Mt.Siguniang Geopark Administration Bureau. The purpose of the meeting is to comprehensively sort out the current progress of the application, study and solve the problems related to the application, and deploy the key tasks in the next stage. Yao Qijie, Secretary of the Party committee of Xiaojin County and Secretary of the Party committee of Mt.Siguniang Geopark Administration Bureau, relevant leaders of Xiaojin County Party committee and county government, relevant leaders of Mt.Siguniang Geopark Administration Bureau, responsible persons of relevant units of Xiaojin County, relevant offices of Mt.Siguniang Geopark Administration Bureau and project team of Sichuan Geophysical Investigation Institute attended the meeting.

The meeting heard a special report on the promotion of the work of Mt. Siguniang. Huang Hao, project manager of Sichuan Geophysical Survey Institute, made a detailed report on the application materials and website, compilation of Table A data, acceptance and inspection plan, construction of identification system, geopark museum cluster, environmental remediation plan and follow-up work. Yang Jinshan, chief engineer of the Institute's self-regulation center, made a supplementary speech on the current difficulties in the work and the next plan.

In 2022, Mt. Siguniang Apply for the Unesco Global Geopark will be launched. In January 2024, Mt. Siguniang Geopark was listed as a candidate for 2024 China World Geopark by the National Forestry and Grass Administration, while striving for Mt. Siguniang World Geopark was listed in the 2024 Sichuan Provincial Government Work Report. In September 2024, the Application for the Proposed Mt. Siguniang World Geopark and its attachments were submitted to the State Forestry and Grassland Administration. UNESCO is currently conducting a review of information. The construction of the park's hardware and software facilities is progressing steadily.

The participating departments made exchanges and speeches and expressed their opinions. They will proceed from the overall situation, communicate closely, assign special personnel to be full-time, and fully support and efficiently cooperate with the application and innovation work in accordance with their respective functions and responsibilities.

Zhou Lei, deputy secretary of the Xiaojin County Party Committee, Yang Lin, deputy head of the Xiaojin County Government, Jin Songqiang, secretary of the Disciplinary Committee of the Mt.Siguniang Geopark Administration Bureau, and Chen Yu and Zhao Anhong, deputy directors, respectively spoke, expressing that they will pay close attention to implementation, coordinate and cooperate, and effectively promote various tasks. Orderly development.

Finally, Secretary Yao Qijie made a concluding speech and deployed key tasks. He stressed that the whole county should attach great importance to it, fully recognize the importance and urgency of the work of Mt. Siguniang Apply for the Unesco Global Geopark, adhere to the goal and problem orientation, do not rely on, implement responsibilities, reverse the construction period, wall chart operations, go all out, overcome difficulties, anchor the goal of "one declaration, one success", and ensure the completion of Apply for the Unesco Global Geopark with the highest standards, the most practical measures and the strongest joint efforts, inject new momentum into the high-quality development of Mt. Siguniang and Xiaojin County.
